No, I'm not taking down the blog. I've finally caught up on six years of family photo uploads to Smugmug.

Lessons learned - if you're going to self host always have a hot-backup ready and a recovery plan, otherwise just leave it to the pros.

So why don't we need healthcare reform again

Oh yeah, it's to keep this system in place.

Stepping into the healcare debate

After reading XO's post and having stood on the sidelines for too long, I'm about to enter the debate.

First to everyone - STFU! Seriously, the shouting has got to stop. It's irksome and makes our nation look like a bunch of idiots.

Second, I've had private insurance - it sucked - a lot. Telling me that more private insurance is the answer to our problems makes you a non-serious participant in the debate. Suggesting we reform the current system is like suggesting we put a lock on the barn door after the cows have left.

Thirdly why don't we take a few clues from people around the globe who've dealt with this stuff already - you know learn from their mistakes? If we can't do better on this that Taiwan & Switzerland who both had healthcare systems as bad, if not worse than ours, I weep for our posterity.

Six years ago today

We brought forth a little person into the world and he has made every day unique and interesting for us.


Happy Birthday Matthew! We wouldn't be the people we are without you, just try not to grow up too fast.

FYI he's taken more pictures by himself than we've taken of our daughter. Wait until I get the rest of his pics posted.

Catching up

I am now only a year behind in uploading all of our photos from the great crash of 2008 to smugmug. However, I've just run into my son's photo-stream-of-consciousness so that is slowing me down again.

So, last night Janet, I, and the spawn went to the Waldo Bloggering gathering. We had a great time and reconnected with some of the people we've grown to know over the past years.

Let this post be my re-entry into the local blog scene. I'll try to have something useful to say.
